When you think of Ford, you may think of tough trucks like the Ford F-150. Even our most popular pickup, however, is doing its part to be more environmentally friendly... without compromising on power.

You may have noticed the F-150 is a little lighter recently... 700 pounds lighter compared to previous model years.

Starting in 2015, the F-150 has used an aluminum alloy body, which is not only lighter, and thus easier on fuel, it's more durable, too.

In fact, wherever you look, Ford is using clever materials to ease environmental impact.

All of our new vehicles built in North American plants use soy-based seat foam, a tactic that reduces oil dependence, and cuts back on CO2 emissions.
