After a keeping us on our tip-toes with teasers for nearly a year, Ford finally has let slip the capability figures for the 2017 Super Duty. Now sporting aluminum skin and a fully-boxed, high strength steel frame in the style of its F-150 sibling, the F-250, F-350, and F-450 are now showing off how this new tech will increase grunt.
Towing and payload numbers are up across the board. For the F-250 and F-350, class-leading figures of 18,000 lbs. are the rule of the road, while the F-450 tops out with 32,500 lbs. and a max payload of 7,630 lbs. The two two-tier engines on the Super Duty lineup also have class-leading figures, with the turbodiesel V8 boasting 925 lb-ft of torque, while the V8 petrol mill boasts 430 lb-ft of twist. These are big gains, for sure.
