The worst sound in the world must be the thunk of your wheel hitting a pothole.
It's terrible, because you know damage was probably done to your car, but there was no way you could have swerved to miss it. With the new 2017 Ford Fusion, you may not have to.
The 325-horsepower Fusion Sport model comes with a clever feature to make pothole damage a thing of the past. The vehicle uses sensors to scan the road's surface. If it detects a pothole in the path of a wheel, it signals the computer-controlled shock absorber system to stiffen up, keeping that wheel elevated out of the hole.
You may not be able to glide smoothly over every hole, especially when the road looks like the surface of the moon, but the system could considerably mitigate wear and tear to your vehicle.
